Weight (kg/m) = 0.866 × AF × AF × 0.00785 = AF² × 0.0068

AF is the distance across flats in mm. The area of a hexagon is √3 ÷ 2 × AF² = 0.866 × AF².

Example: a 20 mm MS hex bar weighs 0.866 × 400 × 0.00785 = 2.719 kg/m.

Measure across flats (parallel sides), not across corners. Across corners is about 1.155 × AF.
